Breeze

Breeze is a sculpture that is intended to capture the action and moment when you are outdoors, breeze blowing and your content with life.

Breeze was a piece where we wanted to capture the appearance of movement as the basis. We sculpted the face form before selecting the drift wood that would work as a frame and still have the movement qualities. We then formed the flowing 5 extended pieces from the face wrapping and intertwining them around the drift wood. To create the texture we hand laid each of the gourd seeds on the face mask, and the hundreds of delicate trumpet vine seeds that cover it.
